I was stressed and stretched beyond measure. Yet, every morning, I put on my public face, strengthened in my secret place, set my face as flint and went to work, functioned flawlessly, closed, do a stint in the church office and or service and got home at night drained and wronged out. I slept with a headache and woke with a headache. How did I manage multiple personalities, grinding through the day know what you left at home, knowing that you had barely had any sleep?

But the cycle continues, day in day out, no reprieve, no succour, no down time. So I reflected, and pondered, women go through this and much worse in some cases. Yet we hold it all together. We may be broken, but we are not shattered. We actually are tougher than we think! For me, the God connection is my hiding place, my strong tower, my solid rock. It makes the equation balanced. When all else fails run to the rock that is higher than you, that cannot be broken. He it is that broke the yoke and restored joy in my marriage and home.

And ... That’s how BBNS was born, to reach our to women like me, to encourage women going through stuff, to provide a safe place to vent and or give yourself a pat on the back.

So if you are that woman who is where I was or worse, I want to assure you that you are in the right place. Your change will come in due season. One thing we also do on this platform is hold quarterly zoom prayers to support and give you hope. God hears, God listens. You are in the right place and it is your celebration too. Today we are 3.

You are tougher than you think you are!

“Madam, where are you going? Madam, madam……” The taxi driver was perplexed. The woman had stopped him but was not saying anything. She looked blankly at him, lost in an inner world of turmoil and uncertainty. She stared at him and mumbled, “I have forgotten”, as the tears dropped silently.

One recurrent feature in a woman’s life, especially the married woman, is that she will face shocking revelations in the character and personality of her spouse as the marriage progresses. Some may be pleasant and others brutal and unbearable surprises. The brutal and unbearable surprises may be emotional, mental or physical and can have grave psychological and physiological effect over time.

Are you bruised, battered, shamed, broken in body, heart and soul? Have you lost your will, personality and sparkle? Do you feel alone, hemmed in, suffocated, used, no one to talk to? Broken But Not Shattered is a space for you to vent, cry, let your hair down and maybe talk to someone. Believe me lady, I understand. In this group, we will discuss everything about the woman and her predicament, we will provide a listening ear and counselling sessions when need be to help you to mend. We understand that if you bend over backwards until you break, it will be difficult to put humpty dumpty back together again. You may be broken but broken can be mended, even shattered, though fragmented can be put together again for with God nothing shall be impossible.
